New School Year... New School Day?

By Kaylee Schier

With school starting last week, students at Fox were surprised to see a new eight period class schedule. One might think that going from a seven period day to an eight period day would make the day longer, but the time school starts and lets out are similar to last school years schedule. School starts at 8:17 in the morning and the final bell is at 3:27 in the afternoon. As Fox Junior Dillon Langley says, "I like the new schedule because you can get more electives out the way." Since Fox has added a class period on to the day, more electives can be offered such as Spanish, journalism and ACT prep just to name a few. Superintendent Mr. Phelps said, "We are a small school, we feel like with an eight period schedule kids can get more electives, participate in more activities and still get their basics." The students and faculty are looking forward to a great school year with the changes that have been made to the schedule.

Batter Up!

By Coach Spigner

This summer, Fox Schools did something for the first time in school history! We fielded a junior high and high school fastpitch softball team! The girls started practice weeks before school started and were playing games as early as August 9th. Coach Queener is pleased with how the squads have performed so far. "We are progressing nicely. Every week I can see improvement in both the high school and the junior high."

The Lady Foxes are learning to play a new game and are getting better in the process. With it being the inaugural season of fastpitch softball, you can expect there will be some struggles, but Coach Queener says the girls are not only swingin' for the fences this season, but for the years to come as well. "I think the future looks bright, we have a lot of talented girls."

The high school girls play this Thursday at Mill Creek!

School has Started!

Back to the Books!

The bells officially rang on a new school year at Fox on August 27th. Not only is Fox starting a little later this year, but also this year Fox will be sporting an 8 period day. But don't worry, school is starting at 8:20 in the morning and the final bell rings at 3:27 in afternoon.
