Theodor Seuss Geisel's 107th Birthday

by Mayara Carreiro and Jessica Schmidt

On March 2nd, the famous writer of 44 children books, Dr. Seuss turned 107 years old. He wrote popular children's books including The Cat in the Hat.

For his memory, the children in Pre-K celebrated with Mrs. Sims. They made Cat in the Hat hats, watched the movie and they also had a Cat in the Hat birthday cake, and Green Eggs and Ham for his other famous book.
The 3rd grade colored the Cat in the Hat pictures and read the book too.
Even if Dr. Seuss is not here anymore, we still remember him and his great books.

The Scholastic Book Fair came to Fox School. They have all sorts of books, posters, pencils, etc. Mrs. McCartney said, "Depending on how much we sell, we can take some of the money out for books or for cash and the rest goes to them." You should come by and get something to help the Fox Library get more books for kids to read. Prices range from 50 cents to $15.00.

Trip to the Capital

By Tyler Townsend and Kaylee Schier

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 a few of the Fox FCCLA members took a trip to the Oklahoma State Capital.

Brianna Lovely, Kaylee Schier, Danielle Morris, Tyler Townsend and Ms. Crawshaw were the FCCLA members that took the trip to the capital. Their trip included meeting our State Representatives Pat Ownbey and Frank Simpson, touring the capital building, taking numerous pictures, reviewing historic monuments, and sitting in sessions. Even though it was a long day for the girls they had lots of fun while learning.
