High School Test Time

With April a day away, it is test time for every school in the great state of Oklahoma. EOI... three letters that a lot of students do not look forward to every school year, but here at Fox, the teachers have been working hard to prepare the students to do as good as they can on their EOI tests. We asked a few of the high school teachers what they have been doing to prepare the students for the tests and here are some of their responses: Mrs. Smart: "The 8th grade does Orchard in for math. It is a good program that is tough, but it helps them out." Ms. Crawshaw: "Wednesday and Thursday the 7th grade does Orchard for reading. Facs I, and Fac II takes EOI. Coach Butler: "We are going over old test some times going through chapter (highlights of the chapter)." Mrs. Kinsey: "Doing Buckledown! Lots of writing and practice tests." Mr. Sheperd: "Doing lots and lots of practice EOI tests." Mr. McCartney: "Looking at all the past state test from the Department of Education." The EOI tests start in April and go until school gets out in May. Good luck, Fox students!

Remember, if you are under the age of 18 you have to have a parents signature (see Ms.Crawshaw for the paper). They will be here between the time of 1:30PM and 5:30PM. When you give blood you get a free T-shirt, Health Screening, and Donor Reward Points. All FCCLA members do not forget that if you have at least four people come and at least try to give blood there will be a pizza party for you.

We hope everyone who can, will come out and donate!!!!

Bullying Assembly

By Miami and Catie

Bullying is a big problem in a lot of high schools, but believe me it is not tolerated. Judy Cavener from the Carter County Health Department is having seminars all around the area to help prevent the problem of bullying. This time she visited Fox.
All kids from 9th through 12th grades attended her assembly. Even if bullying is not a big problem in our school compared to larger schools, kids still learn a lot from her program. The assembly was on Tuesday and lasted about an hour and a half. She gave the students her own example about bullying and also showed a video. The story was about a boy that was bullied at high school. The visual example helped kids realize even more how bullying can not only effect the victims involved, but the person doing the bullying's life as well.
