CARTER COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Carter County Bar Association will be awarding three $1,000 scholarships for use in the Fall of 2011 at a college or university within the State of Oklahoma. High School Seniors residing the Carter County and attending a high school located in Carter count are eligible.

REQUIREMENTS:

Any interested Senior should submit:

a.) high school transcript

b.) resume of activities, in and out of school, which exemplify leadership and character

c.) essay on one of the following topics:

*Should teenagers be subject to criminal prosecution for posting indecent material on social websites

*Should a Board of Education be allowed to require mandatory drug testing for all students?

The essay should be no more than five (5) pages, type-written, double-spaced on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. The type-face should be either Times New Roman or Arial in 12 point type.

- Character recommendation from two adults (other than family members) who know you well

- Parent’s 1040 Tax Statement from the immediate prior year.

Note: No applications will be accepted after April 20^th. Every student must submit this entire application and sign the agreement before being admitted as a candidate into the scholarship program.

Thursday Diamond Results

The Fox baseballers and slow pitch softballers played last night. The Fox Lady Foxes Junior High and High School played Mill Creek at Fox. The junior high ballers won while the high school dropped their contest.

The Fox baseball team played at Bray-Doyle winning in 6 innings, 14-2.

1st Track Meet of the Season... Success!!

Runners to your mark? Get set! Go!
This Tuesday, we heard that a lot of times at the track meeting in Kingston. About 7 schools showed up and the athletes tried to reach the finish line first and get the elusive gold medals and they gave their best for it. The Fox track runners did very well and brought home a lot of medals. The coaches were very excited and happy with the runners. Mr. McCartney was very proud of the silver medal the girls won for the mile relay. It was a hard and successful day and we are looking forward for the next track meet on April 2nd. Good luck for the next event and give your best!
