The band is working and getting better each day. The new band teacher has a lot of new ideas and plans for the band this year, like going to marching contest, honor band, and after January they are going to do workshops, concert contest, and solo and ensembles.

There are 25-30 students in band this year and they are very excited about the Christmas Parade this year because they are going to wear Christmas lights and uniforms. Mr. Stringer wants to update the band status by having a show band and updating instrumentals.

They plan to march at every game and at least one away game. They practice marching during band first hour, on Thursday mornings at 7a.m, and if needed after school. Mr. Stringer said, "We plan on marching at the state fair on Monday, Tishamingo band and field competitions, SWOSU homecoming and game, and the Christmas parade in Ardmore." Senior bandsman Shanda Fore says, "The band has improved and he (Mr. Stringer) has brought out self-confidence and shown us how them how to achieve goals by working at them."
